I highly doubt any screen can get much better than the LG G2 display. I had the galaxy s4 and the LG G2 display still amazes me.

It's better in every way imo I have an S4 here with me now and comparing the same text or images the Nexus 5 wins

the notification LED is like that on the N4. Same colors, about the same size and its right under the screen like the N7

I'm very pleased (but surprised) how positive this is. I've heard some say this screen is (a bit like its predecessor but not as bad) slightly washed out compared to the htc one and iPhone and thus a bit less punchy. But there's nothing but praise for it here.

I really hope this isn't a sort of quality control thing where some handsets are going to have brilliant calibration and others not so

That's a bit of a personal preference. Both has pros and cons.
AMOLED has deeper black levels and lower power consumption, but LCD has superior color accuracy.

not sure about everyone else but i look at my phone directly.. why would i look at my phone from an angle? i dont get the whole viewing angle thing

PPI dosnt determine how good a screen is, it determines sharpness, and at this high level you will NEVER notice a difference between this and the one

The 1.2" display on my microwave has 600 PPI... best screen on the market.

I have had bad experience lately with smartphone screens. My nexus 5 had a yellowy back light at the bottom of the screen so I got rid of it. They told me it was normal. Now my moto X has a dark purply tint at the bottom half of the screen. I think they're all crap. The iPhone seems like the only smartphone with a perfect even screen with none of those display problems.

there is currently an issue with the nexus 5 screen. some units look overly warm, dull, and washed out. and i don't think this was intended. this is why some people are saying it's a great screen, while some are saying it's terrible.
