Shift - An Honest Review Of This Productivity App

I bought it last year and used it for a while and then found myself not using it because of my workflow relying a lot on browser plugins.

It's still a great product and I wanted to give you the Skinny or the 411 as the kids use to say on what I thought about it

Sounds like more complexity than it's worth, certainly when it has such a high fee. Firefox has containers which you can use to sign into multiple accounts on the same website (i.e. separate concurrent sessions), other browsers might have extensions to achieve the same. The other features sound like they essentially extend the tab bar down along the left hand side, or create an additional task bar along there. Both of those functions are essentially covered by tab-grouping and the native task bar that comes with most OS's

What if you set the taskbar to the left side of the screen, wouldn’t that be almost the same? Lol

You didn't really go over many of the features, such as each profile is independent so you can be logged into the same website with multiple usernames.

This is just a browser with icons for different websites...

Not sure why you'd use Shift over creating a company Gmail address and having all your staff (small teams) logging into it. Same work space across different browsers accomplishes the same thing.

How is this ANY different from having a web browser with multiple tabs open and without any middleware? This company throws out terms like “workflow” when they know that it is a glorified middleware for a web browser. The fact that people are paying for this makes me not want to live on this planet anymore.

I can not get notifications to work for the life of me. For instance I'm using instagram and telegram and when I receive a message the application icon in the shift dashboard does not give me a notification. I can see the notifications once clicking on said icon in shift but no notification on the shift dashboard. Any idea?

I have multiple platforms that my clients communicate with me on (Trello, Slack, Voxer, etc.). Would Shift be a good app for me to use if I planned to hire a VA so they could monitor and communicate with all my clients on?

This turned my mac into a slow windows for the 30 minutes it was on my computer. My mac froze when I tried to delete it. Had to restart the system. My mac had never given me a problem. maybe just for me but I'd never recommend for the same reason. Also, the notification bell can be turned off only if you pay 99/year. No thanks.
