Human Brain 🧠 Dot Painting Time Lapse

This painting was inspired by the human brain! I often think about brain science & cognitive psychology. In the left/right brain theory the left hemisphere is said to control more analytical, logical and numerical thinking. The right hemisphere is said to be involved more with creativity, emotion and visualization. But in reality, research shows it’s not so polarized! Differences in function exist, but both sides are interconnected and work together as a neural network, which is why I incorporated colours from each side to reflect the opposite side. The brain has neuroplasticity - the ability to change and adapt, to rewire itself, which we can actively do just by thinking!
The wavy lines represent brain waves, of which there are 5 - gamma, beta, alpha, theta and delta. These are associated with different states of consciousness. Zen monks can achieve much elevated gamma wave synchrony, associated with peak concentration & high level cognitive function, just from meditation! Amazing.
