spins are still is difficult, but one thing people dont realize is kids these days focus so much on the spins. They grew up with Tony Hawk = 900 which they think made him the best. Simply not true. Hawk had so many other tricks and wins before the 900. For example, Tom can hardly do a kickflip indy on vert, mitchie on the other hand is pretty damn talented but still, but think of Lasek doing a nollie heelflip mctwist or White doing his impossible seeming Armadillo. Thats real skill.

let me explained it, tony hawk will be the legend for ever because he landed a 900 on a vert, not a mega ramp, and thats more difficult than in a mega! doing it on a mega its easier because you have so much speed and height so as well time to rotate,
if shawn white would have landed the 1080 on a vert before this kid would have also be a history, but well he didnt and schaar was the first one on doing it on a mega :D
also is the fact that the smaller you are its easier to control the board

None the less its great that the new school Gen is doing this cuz it keeps the legacy going. But vert will nvr dominate street we took over skateboarding and freestyle was killed in the process rofl. Jk but no tho freestyle did died witch sucked but its just lame not seeing the old Gen do this u know. But I guess its cuz they are getting to old :( but the legend lives on. I like to see more adults tho then kids in x games.

I don't think they're trying to compare things like that, I think they were just stating the awesomeness of what's taking place, that's all. Cuz you have dudes like Danny Way, Jake Brown, and Bob Burnquist who have been doing this for years, th originators of the Megaramp, and these 12 and 11 year olds are the first to ever do 900s on it, that's amazing. And I do skateboard a little, it's a little harder to do a timed spin than it is to huck it as fast as I can lol

Ok dnt get me wrong cuz I'm a skateboarder my self I've been skateing for almost 15 years now but this this shit is very anoing now I under stand tht the 900, is very hard I'm a street skater so I def wouldent do tht. But... Wht gets under my skin is tht its a kid tony hawk did the 900, on a normal vert ramp thts 100x harder than wht they r doing dude I give those kids props but they dnt deserve as much credit as the other skaters do they work hard and dnt get seen I've seen women sk8rz do beast

this is big air, the 900 is dumbed down compared to it being done on a regular vert ramp. not taking anything away or saying i can do this shit, but its really not that impressive compared to what danny way and tony hawk did. of course plenty more honorable mentions who excelled in vert. and im more of a street follower.

the thing ab out tonys 900 is it was done in a run on a halfpipe where he was doing other tricks in a consistant line but at the same time trying to pump and gain as much speed as possible to do it on something where you get nearly as much air as a mega ramp which is much harder but theese kids ar fucking nuts shit like that blows my mind

TOM'S ALREADY IN X GAMES JUST MONTHS AFTER DOING THE 1080? Well now we know what to expect in 2013. Same happened with Mitchie. Landed 900 in 2011, did 900 in X Games in 2012. Tom landed the 1080 in 2012, he'll do it in X Games in 2013.

i have limited knowledge about skateboarding but it seems to me that these new kids are more concentrated into doing huge spins (which are very tough) instead of doing a combinations of tricks in one jump

Dude the generation gets always better and better. Its really awesome to watch those kids dropping tricks like never made ones at such a young age. Makes me a bit jealous :D

ESPN and ESPN2 but they cover less than half of the stuff, most of the women and qualifying events are on ESPN3, ESPN3D and watchespn

I thought a 900 was like near impossible for most skaters. These kids made it look easy. Anyone care to explain?
