I think he is the love of her life. I saw her on a talk show one time and she was asked “Why didn’t you ever marry?” Her reply was “Because no one ever asked.” My heart broke for her.

Talk abt getting chills. Pacino walking in the beginning with the godfather theme is the definition of chills.

They may have separated, but, you can tell by the look in his eyes that he still deeply loves her, and she loves him too.

I love how he salutes her at the beginning, sounds like a teenager speaking with the girl he loves in secret. 😂😍

Very sweet. It’s so clear that Diane is still in love with him. The way she says, “My God, ” when he says he will always love her is very touching, bittersweet. It’s obvious he meant it. Good for him to finally say that publicly.

Al Pacino is a fucking legend. I loved it when he said that he still feels uncomfortable speaking in front of a large audience, just goes to show what a humble and down to earth guy he is.

The fact he came here to give tribute to her is so sweet..And he has always stressed how much she was encouraging and helped him back to movies when he had no will to return and Al has always credited her ..He is so humble and sweet .

I can't understand why people who obviously still love each other, don't get back together. It's been many years for them I know, but the way they look at each other, wouldn't it be wonderful to have that love in your old age? That little speech gave me goosebumps.

I always felt like Pacino and De Niro were like full of themselves... the more I watch them the more I discover they're shy and the sweetest souls one will ever see in a lifetime. I know they aren't superior in value much less perfect, but it watching them gives me faith and hope in life, so I suppose that's a good thing.

This hits harder after reading Diane's memoir: "[Al] was an artist. He made me think about the difference between being an artist and being artistic. I knew where I stood. I was artistic. For the first time it didn't matter. I just wanted him to love me." It almost sounds like Al's speech was a direct response to that passage...My heart.

Without Diane pulling him back from his four-year hiatus in the late eighties, asking him to go for Sea of Love, we might never see Al again in the 1990s until now

Such a touching tribute from Al Pacino: "love you forever". I think he meant it in the nicest way.
