The Last of Us is genre-defining experience blending survival and action elements to tell a character driven story about a population decimated by a modern plague. Cities are abandoned and being reclaimed by nature. Remaining survivors are killing each other for food, weapons and whatever they can find. Joel, a ruthless survivor, and Ellie, a young teenage girl who's braver and wiser beyond her years, must work together to survive their journey across what remains of the United States.

I’ve never heard a soundtrack more bleak and hopeless, but at the same time serene and calming/peaceful. It’s so minimalist in its approach. There’s no grand sweeping strings, no stings that give away gameplay beats, none of that. It’s just… I can’t even describe it properly. Gustavo is, simply put, a genius.

The end credits soundtrack was the best in my opinion. Its just an explosion of emotion both happy and sorrowful. It sounded hopeful but also sad and regretful.

The music is fantastic. I loved the last of us. I think what make it so special was that I knew nothing about the game at all. I see it in my local game store and thought it looked interesting just from talking to the guy that worked there. I hadn't seen any pictures or videos so I went into this game 100% blind. This game blew me away. The roller coaster of emotions I felt playing this game was amazing. I don't think I'll ever feel the same about another game.

I've never played a game like this, that could touch me like that. Is a really emotive game. And I think that one big important fact was this, music.
