The 2014 BMW i8 Looks and Driving Scenes! - IAA Frankfurt 2013 (1080p Full HD)
Показать описание
Promising a 'new era of sustainable performance', BMW has revealed its long awaited i8 plug-in hybrid sports car at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show 2013! We think it's amazing!
After scores of chances to see the concept, spy photos and a slow trickle of information, the production car has finally been uncovered. Power comes from a 1.6L three-cylinder turbocharged engine (231HP) and a 131HP electric motor. Combine those two and you got an impressive total output of 362 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque.
BMW claims that the i8 can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds with both the engine and electric motor engaged. Top speed — achieved by the petrol engine alone — is 250 km/h (155mph). BMW says this performance is partly thanks to the i8's relatively low weight of 1490kg and an aerodynamic bodyshell. But what is probably even more impressive, is the average fuel consumption of 2,5L/100km and the autonomy of 35km in full electric mode!
Is this how the future of cars looks? Watch and let us know below in a comment!
