Teena was the ONLY white girl that TRULY embodied the BLACK sound. She didn't have to fake it, put on, she just had it. I remember when she first burst on the scene, we never saw her....we just listened to her songs on the radio....Then, it was announced that she was going to be on Soul Train....when she came out on the stage, to say we were SHOCKED, was an understatement. That little woman sang her blue-eyed heart out and won us over. Dear Lover, Lover Girl, Fire and Desire, Deja Vu, I Need Your Lovin, Portuguese Love, Out On a Limb, just to name a few. Teena crossed over....and NEVER went back! Lady T, MY GIRL! The soundtrack to my teenage years.
