As a screenplay writer, there’s a true fear of one’s writing being less than one’s vision

As a screenplay writer, I don't really have a set vision before I start writing. There's a vision there, but it's never fully concrete. So, I just start writing and let the vision find itself. Allow your script to breathe.

I like the idea of a movie where the audience knows a situation that's unfolding that the main character doesn't.

I love how Sam Jones seems genuinely amazed by the things Seth is saying.

That’s good advice. I definitely talk about my ideas & build them up in my head to be so cool then write for only 10 minutes. I need to do what he said about not treating ur idea like they are so precious

“Writers would rather talk about something for way more time than it would take them to actually write it…” I resemble that remark.

I went into this whole episode thinking "Sam loves Freaks & Geeks. I can't wait to hear an hour long episode about F&G!"
I came out of it saying "I can be a screenwriter"

2 years later and I've written 2 full screenplays and I have worked out the bones for 3 more, all while holding down a full time job.

I feel like I can’t breath when Seth talks..

I appreciate that Seth keeps emphasizing "years and years and years". Im learning to be patient with myself as I write my next screenplay and this is affirming how slow the process is!

Seth Rogen's laugh is so contagious! Just saw an ad for American Pickle, and I can't wait to watch it!

I love this interviewer. What a true engaging person and active listener. I also love how this feels more natural and like actual conversations. Thanks for the content!!

Is it just me or does Seth's laughter sound like a revving car.

he literally explained my entire writing process I've been using to write my first film that i'm writing now. great minds think alike. One day I'll have movies as big as his. He's a legend. Superbad and Pineapple express are classics.

It's hard to have Seth's laugh in your ears but it's harder when it stays in your head.

I remember him talking about Sausage Party on the Stern Show YEARS before it came out.

man i needed this today, I have the biggest issue in revering my own work to the level of making it too important than it really is.
