Thousands of Mexicans participate in a colourful Day of the Dead parade in Mexico City. Adults and children alike enjoy the annual joy-filled festivities where it is believed the souls of their deceased loves ones come back for a short reunion.

As a child, I was continually told by my elders to "Never fear must respect it, but never fear it". Taught to face death bravely and even with contempt if one saw it coming, but never to fear it. I joined the military and fought in a war and this upbringing certainly helped me, because I truly never did fear death then or now.

2024 will be the first time i will get to see this parade live and in person as i will be goong there for my retirement some time in August on a one way trip to Mexico. SO LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT

Is it true they never did a parade until Spectre came out? I know they always celebrated it big time but I read the parade wasn't a thing until the film depicted a fictional version of it.
