yay! other people who are robotics nerds like me :) my team just had our first competition of the year, and I couldn't resist coming back and looking at the teaser to see what people thought it was going to be like.

Sun has 3 letters. There are three symbols on the rover. Rover has five letters. 5+5=10. Five has four letters. 5×4=20. Four also has four letters. 4+4=8. 10+8=18. 20. 18. 2018. One diamond. 2019. Rover ruckus is the 2018/2019 FTC game.

the morse code lights on the robot is D and D may stands for dirt so I think we will have to pick up the right color "jewel"(ball) from a "dirt box" or maybe a debris field/area and put it in something maybe called a "space ship goal" with different height goals and retreat to the balancing stone called a "landing pad" and the field may have special texture tiles like FTC game-"face off" to create a rougher playing filed--Team 5452 Robot To The Knee

FIRST really needs to get some new game designers who are creative. The competitions in recent years have all been relatively the same concepts with only tiny changes. Res-Q was slightly different and the teams complained because then they had to come up with new ideas on how to meet the competition requirements. FTC game design has become extremely stale, and lack of innovation allows veteran teams to easily dominate the competition when they can simply recycle design concepts and don't have to innovate.
