Lime S Electric e-Scooters Trial Period Tacoma 2018

We tried Lime-S dockless shared electric scooters! Lime e-scooters just arrived in Tacoma, Washington for a trial period! The Bird Electric scooter is here too. Are they hazardous/dangerous? Are they worth the money? Are they fun? We tested them out. Yes. Yes. Yes. This is my review of the Lime-S. These electric scooters are so much fun. Formally known as LimeBike. I have been seeing them in Tacoma recently, as well as the Lime e-Bikes. I decided to try the electric scooters with some friends the other day. I also tried the bike. The bike is nice, but the scooters are sooooooo much fun! The scooter only costs $1 to unlock and then 15 cents per minute. How fast do Lime Scooters go? 15 mph regular streets and 20 mph downhill. If the battery is low they don't have much power uphill. On a fully charged battery we went uphill just fine. If the hill is too steep, no way you have to walk it. We also only weigh about 125lbs each. The all black models went faster and had more power than the bigger, heavier white models.

They're here! Lime scooters take to the streets and sidewalks of Tacoma. After mobbin' around town with friends on these dockless shared electric scooters, I can see how the scooters could be dangerous, hazardous and a nuisance. I also see the good in the bikes. Mostly for us the good was fun. We can zip around town on these things. They can be dangerous and easy to lose control of, especially if you have been drinking. I can only imagine. I can see why some people are dying and many are getting injured on these scooters. Tacoma is in a trial phase. We will see if the city allows these electric scooters to continue. I for one will enjoy them while they last! I love these electric scooters.

I would recommend helmets, jeans, shoes and long sleeve shirts. Here in the Pacific Northwest where it's cold, it's easy to dress like that, cause it's always cold.

Watch out for people sabotaging and damaging the scooters. The second day we set out to ride them we found two with condoms wrapped around the handles. No joke. It was gross. A lot of people hate these things. These scooters are causing problems in other big cities. I hope they stay. I like them.
