Corporations buying up housing and renting them is a larger problem.
We have many corations inflating the costs of housing, they then tirn around and rent them out. Rent always increases. The housing costs swing now and then but rent always increases.
We need to regulate housing more. Unoccupied houses and vacations houses should be taxed at a higher rate or interest on those hoses should not be deductible from taxes.
Rent should be able to be written off on taxes. This would help people save up for their first house.
Rent control should be implemented.
Rent should be capped at a certain profit margin. Like utilities.
Housing vouchers should be given to everyone, no requirements.

Minimum wage is to low already.
We have become more productive than ever.
Companies are making more and more every year, many times more than the increase to wages.
We should increase minimum wage till there is no more full time employees living in poverty. Single income should be able to cover the cost of living for the nuclear family.
Minimum wage should scale based on net income. If you are profiting off exploiting and abusing your employees you should be required to pay them more than mom and pops who are just getting by.

I didn’t want to eat after I gave birth at the hospital, so my nurse made an orange juice, cherry juice, and Sprite concoction for me. It was fine but I felt like my blood sugar was spiking. I waited til hours later in the morning when my husband brought a homemade breakfast in for me(brisket and veggies).
I wish I would’ve declined the soda, but she seemed really concerned about me not eating immediately after, and I also got no rest that night(hello, baby!)

There should be no minimum wage. Companies should compete with each other over hiring good employees. Companies with low wages and bad practices will have difficulty hiring and will fail. It also allows for people to be hired for easy jobs: mostly teenagers. Think about it, if a business is required to hire an employee for $20/hr, what are the odds they're going to pick a teenager or a homeless person over literally anyone else?

Minimum wage is definitely too high rn. We've priced out entry level jobs to the point where getting a job is a nightmare. It's not just businesses that benefit from lower minimum wage. It's anyone who wants to start out in the job market. Since minimum wage jobs are not where you want to set goals to, but where you get your foot in the door. I would take a five dollars an hour job if it meant I actually had a job.

I actually think we have the opposite problem that China does where China has so much cheap labour that there isn't much room to grow for all the people with degrees and such. Out here in Canada, the more we raise minimum wage, the less people will be able to find a job.
