Lancer definitely got right that, the use of "Houses" arent purely hereditary, but that people intermingle and moving in and out of houses swiftly given the ease of travel and communication unlike medieval times when Livery and Guild structure were meant to keep communities together and centralize power, but since none of that really matters when you can talk to whoever whenever you want movement is easy and hereditary inheritance is saved only for people who really have a stake in massive interplanetary politics like the major houses.

Gotta admit the techno-knight aesthetic blends perfectly with the Mecha genre. But the Albatross wears it better.
