Industry 4.0 is the term coined to describe the 4th industrial revolution and is focused on unlocking the value from the data captured in manufacturing to drive productivity and enable agility in the introduction of new products and services. In his address to the IIEA, Barry Heavey discusses the implications of this technology for the life sciences sector.
About the Speaker:
Barry Heavey is the head of Life Sciences in Accenture Ireland and part of their global Industry X.0 team, focused on digitalisation in life sciences manufacturing. Prior to Accenture, Dr Heavey was head of IDA Ireland’s Life Science team and held roles in large pharma and biotech companies. He holds a PhD in Genetics from the University of Vienna.
