And those poll results make perfect sense & reflect real-life. 1. regular is good & should be encouraged; 2. But if a lump-sum (LS) comes along (I have a DB pension LS due shortly), then you'd be crazy not to invest it. So, finally, 3. it does DEPEND on circumstances: sometimes you can invest regularly, sometimes not; & sometimes a tasty LS comes along that begs to be invested.
