Meze Audio makes premium headphones and IEMs. There is no doubt about that. So I was certainly interested to try out their more affordable headphone, the 99 Classics. Is there any significant sound signature difference from the earcups being maple or walnut?

Without very heavy EQing those 99 classics are unlistenable to. They are just so bassy and muddy. Always take online reviewers opinions with a huge grain of salt. And obviously if you can you should always have a listening session before you purchase a pair of headphones.
