I am one of the biggest 49er fans from the early eighties. I can't tell you how much I disliked the Dallas Cowboys and Troy because they kept stopping the Niners in the NFC championship games. I might of disliked him back then but I have always respected the heck out of that man. I respected him because of his relentless focus on winning. It does not surprise me at all that he has become successful in the broadcast booth as well. Troy is the kind of friend we all need in our lives because you know he will hold you accountable for your bullshit. So happy that he is healthy and happy in life.

3 Super Bowl titles. Responsible for 2 of the 4 Buffalo losses and a win against Pittsburg in 96. Growing up an Eagles fan, I didn't really appreciate how good Mr. Aikman was until watching old games later in life. If you live in Philadelphia, any team but Dallas was the consensus, but I give credit where credit is due. Much respect.

Troy and Emmitt were two greats that didn’t disgrace the team or themselves. Proud to be a fan! Proud that my son was able to look up to them!

I worked with Troy as a Director/Producer on much of his earliest TV/advertising work. He was HORRIBLE on camera when he started. BUT he is the person you see -- he is a humble Oklahoma boy just as in awe of the opportunities he's been given as we are of what he accomplished. Very nice person.

Troy Aikman is a class act. He's open and honest with his emotions and talking about what went on during his career. Choking up when discussing the OKC bombing and his sister makes you realize he's just a regular guy that happens to be a HOF Quarterback.

This interview is 8 years old for anyone wondering when they said we've been working in the booth for 14 years because it's actually 22 years now

I really appreciate Troy for his honest emotive responses about things that have mattered in his Life. He's an admirable human being, I reckon.

Never saw a tougher Cowboys quarterback than Troy. The hits he took, especially in the early years and those NFC East battles, were brutal...yet he stood in there and delivered strikes every time. Today's "elite" quarterbacks wouldn't have lasted half a season. Troy is one of my favorites from back in the day.

I was never a fan of Oklahoma, UCLA, or the Dallas Cowboys, but I'm a big fan of Troy Aikman. He was a great player but an even better person.

Troy is the best guy. I was in Kindergarten in 1990 and I told everyone my name was Troy. So the teacher asked my mom is his name Troy and she said no and laughed and told the teacher that I loved Troy Aikman and wanted to be like Troy lol. Great times

Lifelong Eagle fan here. I am grateful that your mother made it through that terrible disease Troy. I know you have said that she should not have made it but God said she would as has others. I am grateful for you and your family that she is still here. On a side note in my opinion you are an excellent commentator!!

As a lifelong Cowboy fan I was elated when they won the Super Bowl in 92. Troy is such a stand up guy and it shows in this interview. I love how Joe tries to make Troy laugh. I'm sure it's because he know how intense Troy is all the time. It just shows their friendship is a good one. Thanks Joe for interviewing your friend and partner in crime. Always love to listen to you guys do NFL games!

Troy is a class act. I met him one time in '98 while working at Dillard's in Irving Mall in Dallas. His house had just burned down and he was buying some new clothes. He talked with me briefly and was very polite. Wish I could have got his autograph but it was against store policy!

I'm a lifelong Giants fan who sat in the upper deck of the Meadowlands for years cheering for Lawrence Taylor to break this guy in half. That said, hearing this interview I freaking love him. The idea that to this day he's pissed that he and Jimmy are not regarded the same as Brady and Belichick because Jimmy didn't have the drive to get there is amazing. And then to hear him apply that as a parent to say "Whatever you do, do you want to be great, or do you just want to go through the motions?" is incredible. He makes everyone around him better.

Never saw this video before, and if there was ever a moment to reveal the real honest to god man that Troy Aikman has shown to be...here it is folks.

A super classy guy, with a real deep sense of compassion. 🏆

This is one of the most entertaining interviews, I have ever seen, heard! Joe Bucks questions are not
only well timed, but probing as well! Now to confess, I'm not only a Boomer Sooner fan for several
decades. BUT, a Cowboys fan for almost the same duration! I could listen to this over, and over
again. What stands out most for me is Troy's midwestern values, and his work ethics! Wish more
Americans had these values
