One reason wholesale prices are down is because auctions are saturated with repossessions. Which are the dregs of the used car market. The new car market has died and nice used trade-in's are not being absorbed into the used car market.

I went to look at a 1987 k5 Chevy Blazer with no interior, rotted out floors, tailgate didn't work, no radio, cracked firewall, rusted oil dip stick, oil hasn't been changed in years. I asked the seller how much and he said $12, 000. I told him good luck.
