The Pinups - New Wave Lover (1980)

"The Pinups" were guests at the "Musikladen" in Bremen in October 1980. Before the recording and during the rehearsals of the song "New Wave Lover", the photo journalist was allowed to take photos in the dressing room, which, viewed today, show a historical picture of the times. At that time, the girls still had to apply make-up themselves, and also do their hair themselves. Only the singer was styled professionally. As you can see in the finished recordings of the song "New Wave Lover", the striped pants were replaced by plain black ones. The reason: at the time, some clothes (patterns, colors) caused the recorded image to flicker - and then it was not usable for a TV broadcast.

Fantastic tune, it is one of those new wave/synth pop songs that sound like it could of easily been recorded around 1983/84, they nailed the mid 80s synth pop sound with this song!

Nobody knows that that was a german girls band at the begin of the 80's? There were different bands with this name, for example in Poland. I loved that music, but the LP was stolen, maybe because of the hot cover... ;) This LP is very rare, so I'm thankful, that it was uploaded here.
