Why Are There No Lynxes in Britain?

Britain’s fauna used to be very different from today. Travel far enough back in time and you would have come face to face with the likes of brown bears, wolves, and bison. Even further back and you would have walked amongst woolly rhinos, woolly mammoths, and saber-toothed cats. But there is one animal that died out not so long ago. A more elusive animal that once called Britain it's home. It was the Eurasian lynx. Today this medium-sized cat is widely distributed throughout Northern, Central, and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Siberia, the Tibetan Plateau, and the Himalayas. It is considered a species of Least Concern on the IUCN red list. But none survives in Britain.
Here we ask the question, why are there no lynxes in Britain?

The Eurasian lynx definitely should be reintroduce back into Britain as well as wolves and bears

It would be great if they could be re-introduced to Britain. But the problem is the diminishing amount of suitable habitat where they can thrive. Forests and green spaces have vastly diminished since the Lynx last existed in Britain.

This is an interesting subject, especially considering there are some people who believe lynxes might still be ALIVE in Britain. Britain is no stranger to cryptid sightings, and one of its most common examples are of creatures called ABCs, or Alien Big Cats. These creatures are examples of big cats that are either not native to Britain, or big cats that lived in Britain long ago, but now no longer exist there, and several of these sightings have reportedly been of lynxes.

Did you know that the Common Lynx (Lynx lynx) is more closely related to both the Canada Lynx (Lynx canadensis) and the Red Lynx/Bobcat (Lynx rufus) than it is to the Iberian Lynx (Lynx pardinus)?

Who says there are no lynx (not lynxes), in Britain? You don't sound very well informed.
