ABOUT ME🙋🏻‍♀️
I'm Christianne, a solo traveller, vlogger and entrepeneur from Surrey, UK. I spend half my time exploring new places around the globe with my backpack, and the other half creating videos about my experiences, what I'm packing, solo travel advice, money budgeting tips and anything else in relation to my backpacking lifestyle.

FAQ's
Is travelling solo safe? - I would argue the answer is almost always yes! As long as you use your common sense and you follow your own government's guidelines about travelling in that country. I have made several videos on backpacking safety on my channel.
Do you have plans to settle down? Yes, I'm currently saving to purchase my first property in the UK and I'd love to have children one day. I doubt I'll ever live a completely 'conventional' lifestyle by society's standards though, as I often have my own preferred way of doing things.

You should consider getting into voice over work, too. Your voice is really clear and nice to listen to.

I was inspired by one of your vlogs awhile back on Puerto Escondido and I ended up spending a month out there. It was amazing! The travelers there are laid back and the food is great. Fast forward a couple weeks later when I in was Tulum and it felt like everyone either wanted my money or was high on something. I left after a few days. Puerto for sure!

Amen, there are still cheap ways to stay in Tulum but overall its not worth it anymore. Only go for special events. Stop posting about PE, so we can have a few more years off the radar

I was in Tulum the first time in 1989 (old) and there was nothing there. We stayed on the beach in a cabana. The real one with no floor (just the beach). We hanged our hammocks in there and that was it. The shower was a bucket from the well and there was a "restaurant" where we had our meals. You could just walk up to the ruinas, no entry. Now it is something else. Not sure I will ever experience that again maybe a bit when I visited Myanmar but not close.

We booked a family trip to Mexico in July without knowing anything about those differences, except that PE and Oaxaca in general seemed less travelled. We are glad about our decision, the more info we gather. We hope to provide our kids with more of a backpacking experience than an all-inclusive vacation, and I think 8 days on the Oaxaca coast (split between PE and SA) will be perfect! Your videos have been very useful for our planning!

I've been to Tulum 10 years ago and it was completely different. The city was still small and not very touristic and it was very cheap. Glad I've got to experience it like that

That was a pretty good breakdown. I went to Mérida in Jan, then randomly decided to check out Puerto for a week not knowing anything about it, and ended up staying for 4.5 months. Just got back home July 1. Stopped in Playa del Carmen on my way home for a week to visit a friend and check out the area. PDC is pretty gross...that whole side of the country has been ruined by hotels/gift shops catered to making Americans spend money.
Puerto was amazing! I'll be going back in the fall. There are a few spots with good internet.y apartment in Tamarindos (between Zicatela and La Punta) was totally fine, and I never had a single issue with connection/speed.

Great video. En pointe. I've been to both Tulum and Puerto Escondido as a digital nomad. I recommend PE if you are a surfer. An alternative to Tulum is Playa del Carmen which I think is a better destination if you are not a surfer. Has the benefits of both worlds with Tulum within day trips distance. Also, WiFi wthin PDC is top notch.

I was in Tulum 2 weeks ago for about the 10th time. Oh the sargassum is terrible. So sad. Just flew in to puerto Escondido today for the first time. I’m impressed and can say I’d come I will try huatulco next. Puerto is nice but the water is rough everywhere. If u go to Tulum go to Cozumel you are on the opposite side so there’s no sargassum where the beach clubs are . Great snorkeling.

Thank you so much. Beautiful shots of Rinconada and Carrizalillo. Your video brings back really great memories. I was there for a month, just before the hurricane. Stayed some nights at Hostel Shalom and I cannot wait to get back. Thanks again!

I really hate when a place gets so popular that it gets crowded and overpriced... Tulum is very different than 30 years ago. Back then you could go and you wouldn't believe how beautiful and calm and isolated it was from the outside consumer world...
Now it's expensive because of tourism and the ambitious Mexican business people that want to charge like there was no tomorrow day...
I want to go to Puerto Escondido to enjoy the beautyness of solitude
Thanks for your review !
