Personally idc about all that I just want ps plus miss the old free days just pay for your internet but whatever ppl loving this stuff because they don't know the days when it was free to play online

A big reason as to why I found that Gamepass was so worth it was the fact that not only did I get games for my Xbox but I also got a ton of games for PC. If Sony ends up doing something similar on the future, then I can see a real competition between the two. Until then, Gamepass still has the upper hand in my opinion.

I have both services now and this just really simplifies things for me going forward. As a PS 5 only player, I do like the idea of access to more new software. I’m optimistic about how this will pan out in the future.

Definitely waiting for the game library reveal and the 'Before You Buy" before I do anything. I was really hoping for New Releases going directly to the service like Game Pass. They did recently do this with Shadow Warrior 3 straight to PS Now for a bit. But asking me for an extra $60 a year for old games seems too much. I can't even find time to get/play all the new releases coming out, let alone revisiting old PS1/2/3/PSP titles. But I can see the appeal for some people.

Depends on the catalog of games, this does look really exciting with an evolution of the service that feels natural with the "nothing changes" tier option still available. I like it but let's get downloadable games to avoid performance issues for older titles please.

One more thing related to pricing which was worth mentioning is that on Xbox you can upgrade up to 36 months of live or gamepass to gamepass ultimate, which is an extremely good deal.
Also for ultimate, there's PC, Ea Play and XCloud...

Players should wait on this and see the reviews on the highest tier and what games are available in the package.

I might upgrade depending on what PS1 and PS2 games make the cut. I would rather buy PS3 and PS4 games. Hell I would buy the individual PS1 and PS2 games digitally if it were an option

I miss the days when you can buy a disc and just play it. No online, no microtransactions, no patches. The glitches became a feature and the quality came from passion.

One thing I’ve not seen mentioned anywhere yet and what I hope to see is a possible upgrade option for current annual subscriptions. Say I’m 1/4 through my yearly subscription of PSPlus, is it safe to assume they’ll want me to finish out that year before changing my subscription or make me pay full whack again for the Extra or Premium plan?

Seems a bit mad but I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t make it an option to upgrade your current plan for a discounted amount (the discount being what you’ve already paid for your annual subscription) but I hope they do! Would be nice if I had the option to upgrade from Essential to Extra for an a fixed price upfront!

It's a pretty good move I guess, giving more options to the players. Unfortunately not very tempting for me, more than covered with ps4 and 5 games. Ps3 hooked up too. I'm just staying put with the essential tier. I'll be interested in another to get backwards capabilities, ps1, 2 and 3 catalog. PSP. Other than the tier 3 option.

"Having your cake and eating too" means that you want to eat your cake without actually losing it from consuming it. So basically you can't do both obviously. You either can "eat" the cake and no longer be in actual tangible possession of it or, "keep" it in your possession. You can't eat it and keep it remaining in your physical tangible possession at the same time.

This sounds like a solid approach. For me I'd go premium. I grew up on Nintendo and a bit of PS, mostly the hits. And then went into Xbox. So I missed out on a lot of hidden gems and games that seem incredibly beloved by people. Having an opportunity to play those in a convenient method sounds fantastic to me.

I'm just happy they're keeping the same yearly price. I kept seeing the $10/month price floating around but no mention of a yearly subscription, so I was worried they'd be doubling the base price with no benefit. I pay $30-$45/year since it's always on sale somewhere (I got $30/year last time I renewed since I let my sub lapse for a couple of months when the monthly games weren't great, and then they had a deal for "new subscribers" for $30, and CDKeys always has a year for $45), so I definitely wasn't going to start paying $120.

Depending on what games are included in the library of 400 and if the value of those game is worth the extra $40/year, PS+ Essential could be a really good deal. I understand why people wanted new games day and date on the new service, but for people like me who have a huge backlog and don't play new games right when they come out, this is a great way to catch up on missed releases over the last few years. It's especially nice for players picking up a new PS5 and having a library of games to choose from right from the start. It's not a 1-to-1 competitor to Game Pass and all its features, but it could still have a lot of value.

I would most likely keep the 1st “tier” because the others are unreasonably priced

I'm just worried about the streaming consistency, you need really good internet to use PSNow, so if I'm gonna have to pay double for my internet to stream then it just isn't worth it.
