The Supreme Court's LGBTQ Ruling: Redefining Sex | Guest: Carrie Severino | Ep 264

Carrie Severino, president of the Judicial Crisis Network, explains how the Supreme Court's redefining of the 1964 civil rights law's definition of sex is harmful to American legislation. Unelected judges are making these decisions instead of the public's elected officials within Congress. Additionally, how will this affect the religious work environment if an individual disagrees with a person's sexual orientation or sexual identity? Bostock v. Clayton County will certainly be a defining moment in U.S. history.

Your wrap-up is very clarifying when you put what is happening into historical and biblical perspective Thank you, Allie!

After this opinion I cannot call Justice Gorsuch neither conservative, nor originalist. Definitely a lapse of judgement, but in my opinion this raise the question what are the boundaries of the SCOTUS/judicial system's decision. Maybe this should be defined more precisely by the legislators?

I have to say I was disappointed in this ruling.. I am older and well remember how women fought for a playing field re women’s athletics... guess that was a waste of time. Also the locker room and rest room issue... there are just too many predators out there for it to be safe. Have a third rest room or locker room if possible.

Dictionary definitions? Good luck with that. All it takes is a 22 year old to e-mail Merriam-Webster, and they'll change the definition.

This clarifies a question I had. Esp. since gay marriage, few have tried to reverse Obergefell. The legislators don't really want to make the arguments...now they can say "the courts decided."

Allie, its great to see you in the new studio space but I think the peach/orange wall color and the lighting is making you look orange in that space. Just my 2 cents from an interior designer.

Goodness! Wasn't expecting a Joe Biden ad right before this video. How ironic!

Its already covered in the equal opportunity employment laws. So why did this even become a Supreme Court issue?? Seems a bit redundant to me.

2 Sexes= Male and Female. Sexual orientation, Gender identity...1000s? I can't imagine the pain of not knowing what sex you are. Something that the majority of people don't have to think about.

Libel laws originally only covered the written word. The court had to extend it to radio and tv.

What about christian organizations and schools? Will they have to allow a transgender to teach classes even though they don't agree with christian teaching. I had my daughter at a daycare while I was in college and caught the daycare having a transgender person from the local highschool in front of my 2 year old about his sex change. Needless to say, I took her out of there and she now goes to Catholic schools because I don't want that sort of thing happening again. Will they be forced to hire those in a gay "marriage, " against their conscious?

@Allie - Can you help me (us) understand the point of writing dissents? If the issue is decided and therefore "set in stone", what is the point of sharing/writing a dissent?

The background where Carrie is at looks similar to my appartment. I have a ton of books, many sets.
I don't know which of the two's hair were being commented on, but Carries is rather attractive. Not my usual type of comment.
