In this video I’m showing the pre-recorded music I’ve received over the last couple of months. There’s also a story about how I helped give a name to an album.
For transparency I have tagged this video as a Paid Promotion as I have received most of these things for free. The Camera of Sound Cassette & LP was purchased via Bandcamp. No money has changed hands and the links shown below are not affiliated.

FAQ
Q) Why are there comments from a week ago when this video has just gone live today?
A) Patrons usually have early access to videos. I'll show the first version of a video on Patreon and often the feedback I get results in a video going through further revisions to improve it. e.g. Fix audio issues, clarify points, add extra footage or cut extraneous things out. The video that goes live on youtube is the final version.

PFAQ (Predicted FAQ)
Q) Why is there a picture of a cheese sandwich on screen at the beginning?
A) A cheese sandwich indicates that this is a quickly-assembled video with few frills. There might be the odd dodgy edit and/or sound glitch.

Thank you so very much, Techmoan, for putting indie DIY artists like us in the spotlight. Physical music formats like CDs, records, and cassettes will never be obsolete in our hearts. 🎶

Hey, we're 1 of the bands featured on the 'Guitars of the Underground'. Really cool video thanks for playing us!

Back in the dim dark ages of the 80's when I first started working, there was a gentleman in the office who'd, every payday, make his way of to his favorite record store. About an hour later he'd return with several bags each containing a couple of LP records. I once asked him how many records he had, his reply has stayed with me all these years. It was "I don't know. What I do know is I've got several lifetimes worth of music and memories here. I'm going to continue to buy and listen to all this beautiful music until I die." That was very true back then and even more so today.

First off, fab video man. I love seeing alternative and retro formats being used for releases . And second making Saturday mornings worth getting up for again. This channel has fast become a replacement for the Saturday morning TV I used to watch as a nipper. But for people who like weird/alternative/retro technologies. I'm sure i speak for many, its really helped get through some very difficult times.

That mini-disc compact stereo with the raising front panel for the CD was really cool!

If I ever have an album with a Techmoan inspired name, I'll name it, "Flippin 'eck". 🤣

Rebuilding old 8 track tape cassettes and putting new music on them? That perfectly straddles the line between genius and insanity. I am blown away.

"First time I've ever had an influence on an album and very likely the last..." Matt, you have no idea what some of us are cooking up out here, fans of your videos!

The quality of the reel to reel always amazes me, so glad that there are enthusiasts keeping the format alive! Thanks Techmoan for another great video!

I hope the 80s retro music thing never dies.

Can we all take a moment to appreciate the amount of time and effort Mat put in to present all of these albums on assorted players?

"You can hate it all if you like. There is nothing much we can do about it, neither you, nor I".
Techmoan, April 2021.

That's how you do it. THAT'S how!

TechMoan's professional production quality shines through as usual - but I would like to add that I happened to like the music he was playing. Obviously the show was about the retro media formats, but I actually liked the music too. Never heard of those artists you mentioned... Need to check them out. Here is TechMoan not only doing a video on retro technology, but also (inadvertantly) promoting new music! Brilliant TechMoan! (real name Marius from, Warsaw, Poland)

That achingly cool CD/MD player featured at the end is a Panasonic SA-PM50MD, which by the look of it was only released in Japan.

Fabulous job on those 8track cartridges, I just found my old player, and metal cassettes too, I’m back in the 80’s
