Picked one up. Threw in a Harbour HP 9" fin. Fast. Stable. Great single fin flow. I was surprised it turned with such little rocker and concave. All you need in a longboard. Thanks for the review.

Fab review. Just got one off eBay - the best longboard I’ve ever owned.

Great review. Actual real-world feedback and comparisons with other boards. Thanks!

Dope video. Just bought one and I’m even more stoked to test it out. I bought it for my son to ride with me as I just bought a Harley Ingleby Diamond Drive Thunderbolt Red 9'4. But I have a feeling I’m going to be the one riding this board mostly 🤙

Hi there, I own the older version, the 9.4 Robert August Wingnut Noserider, surftech version and my friend has this firewire one (9.4 version). Mine is absolutely fantastic. I thought they would be similar, but this one has
No rocker on the nose;
Round rails in the back (as opposed to flatter on the older version);
The rails are thicker, while the old version has very thin rails;
The fin box is a lot more forward.

By the looks it should catch waves better and be more of a noserider than the tuflite but... It's a dog 😢

Interesting that you sold the gem, you seemed to really like it initially...

Great Review... Honest and applicable to the average surfer..
Huge selection in Firewire longboards so starts to get pretty confusing as they the boards seem to cross use alot.
My question: I want to go single fin 2-4ft more traditional style on softer waves but confused as to whether the Special T or the noserider is the one? Guess i'm concerned if noserider will lose the rail if i surf spot that gets a little steeper. I have a local 9 HP board in 1 & 2 setup & a Firewire 6'4 Greedy beaver for wave size.

Let me know your experience.

Mate, the last part was really interesting. That summary was exactly what I was looking for. I've been kinda married to my wingnut noserider surftech but after 8 years it's starting to wear. The rails on the surftech version are actually sharper than the firewire reincarnation. Would you still say it's a fast board (and faster than the special T) when trimming? Thnx heaps and keep up the great reviews!

Great video - thank you! Which fin did you say you had here? Think the one i have might be too small

Wingnut or special T for sumner? I’m currently riding a 5’9 firewire seaside and I’m wanting to get a longboard to ride smaller waves in sumner. What you reckon?

Debating on replacing my Torq 9, I’m only 2 years into surfing but still unable to catch green (can only get out 1/2 a month) and wondering if this board is a good replacement for my level.

Thinking about the 9’8. How strong are the boards?
