Brazil legalized same-sex marriage in 2013 while the US only did it in a federal legal two years later

Trans people have the right to get a totally free sex reasssignation cirurgy through Brazil's public healthcare system

Things are not perfect in the country for LGBT people, but legally at least it's a pretty progressive country

South Africa was one of the first to ever legalise same-sex unions. Like in the 90s. Updated the marriage act too a few years ago. We hardly get any recognition for being one of the most welcoming nation's to LGBTQI people. We're conservative, yes, but there's more freedom here than people realise around sexual and religious expression.
