Older video - but exactly what I was looking for. Especially grateful for the tip about not gluing the pieces so that you can move them (or even disassemble easily for cleaning). Great video - thanks.

Thank you for posting. I was about to dig a trench & fill it with rock to get the water away from the house. I'll definitely try this first.

Thanks ever so much, I have 3 drain outlets that I (old lady) fixed just like this for under $10. I charged my hubby plumbers price to do it for him, thanks for my new purse....$300. Lol. 🤣

You can dig a gravel pit if it just goes into the yard. Dig a 3x3 foot hole 3 feet deep and fill it 3/4 with gravel put the pipe a few inches into the top of the gravel and cover with Landscaping fabric and then fill with dirt over the fabric. Reseed or cover with the sod cut out you would have made. This is about a $50 project.

On my house, the main a/c drain pipe goes to a bathroom sink drain. Earlier this past Summer I noticed that there was a rust colored stain on the exterior of my spare bedroom vinyl window on the outside and started checking the attic to see what was wrong. The overflow pipe comes through the exterior through the soffit. I found that my drip pan drain pipe that goes to the bathroom sink, was clogged and the pan was almost full. Here in North Texas many new homes have the air handling equipment up in the attic. Yes, I know that it is the hottest location during the Summer.

That water will not dry up even in 110 degree weather. Just fixed one of these that dripped so much it had started a little algae colony in their side yard because they had their ac running all day. it looked like slime from Ghostbusters 2,

Good fix, I have two story and mine drops from eve and makes a heck of mess, I’m going to run a PVC line under the eve (pitched) to the nearest gutter down spout.

We had a cheap plastic pipe running into our backyard when we bought the house but our dogs kept knocking it down because not only is it in the middle of the yard, it's also fairly high up on the house. My brother in law attached a hose to it instead hoping the dogs wouldn't be able to get the hose off, which they haven't but now the water drains into the middle of the yard where the dogs dig a hole for the water to collect in and they make a HUGE mess and drink it. I don't think it's good for them to be drinking it. At a loss for what to do about this draining now!

Mine is located in my attic and the drain pipe is slab right in the middle of the soffit, on top of the master bedroom's window so it's not close to the wall and it's a two story house. I had to get a 90° elbow, aim the elbow towards the wall, stick an 8in pvc pipe in (that's how far away from the wall above the window the pipe is) grab another 90° elbow and slant it a little to the right, downwards before inserting about 12in of pvc so the pipe doesn't run directly in front of the widow and is located next to the gutter. I inserted another elbow, stuck a long pvc pipe in it, coupled it with half the other pvc pipe I bought before putting an elbow, 5 inches and one last elbow aimed downwards so the water goes right above the splash block. I did have to glue the top parts because of the difficult location of the pipe, but the long pipeline I just secured with some straps . Rain and shine did the trick for the glue. No leaks, it drains directly in the splash block instead of right above my new outdoor unit where it was causing issues plus messing up the wall. Now I can finally fix all the problems it left behind.

Sincerely, Thank you!

My pipe emerges thru soffitt.
The not glueing and painting will work well -

Since I live in the desert (Phoenix, AZ), I'd love to redirect the water to our garden or the small patch of grass that is nearby. My problem is that the drain is actually buried beneath 6-8 inches of soil. Will redirecting require landscaping?

There's another larger tube right next to the smaller one. The smaller one is the one that is dripping. Anyone know what the other is for?

I don't have anything like that in my house. The a/c just drips right out of the unit. I was looking for ways to redirect the water away from my house.

Won't the concrete get slippery? Slip hazard?

I keep my 90 degree elbow pointed upwards at an angle which fills the pipe with water to deter critters from climbing into the pvc pipes. By placing the piping in a downward angle the pipe will not fill with water to deter them. Thoughts?

In terms of termite prevention you will want to make that pipe 10 times longer to get the water away from the house.
