What is Now Happening to America's Farms and Food Supply


Over the past two decades, we have seen dairy farms consoldate from 1000 dairy farms to only 40. This farm trend has been seen in both America and also the UK.

Within England, more than 1700 farms have vanished from England's urban fringes since 2010.

For farmers in Wisconsin, we are seeing it become more difficult for the average Wisconsin farm family to make it in today's economy.

We are also seeing certain foods like asparagus now disappearing from California farms. The reason is because of labor costs and other cost factors.

In 1990, it took four hours to drive fomr my parent's home to the university I attended. We'd strap my suitcase to the roof for the trip and, when we arrived, I had to use a knife to scrape the layers of dead bugs off the suitcase.

Now it's rare to see a single bug hit my windshield when driving.

The reason for the decline of dairy farms since the 70's is every community had their own dairy farm, and they delivered milk, butter, cheese etc directly to your home into a box outside your door. They stopped doing that and the small farms shut down.

I am fortunate to have some land, i planted 3 acres in gardens and have been helping people in my community during these last years of high food prices and people are so appreciative. Im calling it the Victory Garden now.

After cleaning them out and refilling them with filtered water from a Zero brand water filter the water had a cloudy appearance a couple days later only at the bottom third of the bottle. I live in Southeast Texas all the farms are disappearing. They're excavating it and building houses and we don't even have a grocery store within a 15 mile drive of where these multiple subdivisions are going in. Makes no sense and where is all the water going to go how is all their poop going to betaken care of what kind of sewer systems it's ridiculous
