The only 'problem' with this video, is that by the time I finished making my book it looked so good, it didn't look hand made! No one will believe I made it! :)

Those corners look like a WHOLE lot of frustration ... :D

Great tutorial! Just a quick tipp: for flattening the folds at the round corners you can use a hammer. Just test it on a spare part of the cover material first to make sure it doesn't leave bad imprints. Make sure the backside of your hammer is smooth. A shoemaker's hammer is ideal. And then don't be shy and apply some force - works great and is easy and quick! :)

I saw this and thought why did you place the board pieces in the middle all that wasted fabric but in all very good book you have an amazing talent

Hi! I used a 1/2" corner punch. I got mine from a craft store.

Thanks so much! This took me almost a week to finish because I kept messing up but now I have my own personal notebook :)

Followed this tutorial to add a hardcover for one of my notebooks. Used contact paper instead of book cloth, yet it still turned out perfectly. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!!

Thanks so much for responding for my questions, and so quickly! If it hadn't been for your videos, I would never have tried to make my own Moleskine-style book. Thank you! Please keep filming tutorials!!!

I would love to see a video of your tools and cheaper alternatives tools! This looks like it add up to more than the actual sketchbook itself.

Lovely as always.  So are you.  I love your videos because you don't babble on and on.  You are so refined.

Wow I was thinking of making my own tablet book cover case and I found this. That was so unbelievably cool to watch. Loved every second.

did you really had to paste the covers in the middle of the fabric?, you could've saved half of that Dx

Awesome! I'm into bookbinding, too and post videos on YT, but I'm a Newbie and have a more messie style. Love to watch your videos. Learning so much.

It’s so nice much nicer than the ones I’ve made so far but then again you have proper tools

Assuming you have any implement that allows you to use a piece of fine to medium sanding paper (be it a drill or a grinder with a sander attachment) you can easily round the corners (very crisp look) using two pieces of plywood to sandwich (using tape) the notebook heart. You draw your circle line on the plywood (can also be cardboard, but it generally needs to be stout) and have at it with the sander. Gives a very, very, very crisp finish, second only to using the real deal AKA the corner slicer press. Cheers.

Genuis, I love your tutorials, they are the cleanest, clearest and easiest to understand. Thank you for taking the time to do them. You have inspired me and I have been collecting materials to start book binding... I'm sure it's not as easy as you make it look though.. :D
