This was far more challenging than I expected. I played the clarinet for six years as a child, so reading notes I could do already. Playing different notes with 2 hands though... it's quite a humbling experience.

I only watched this since I want to see how you teach this. And I'm impressed.
For the landmark notes, I also include the second space from the top on the treble and from the bottom on the bass clef, whch is C. And the nice thing is that the note on the second ledger line above the treble cleg and the second ledger line below the bass line is also C. Two above C level and 2 below C level.

I’m 67; this my first attempt at any musical instrument and I’m finding it quite challenging! After many, many years as a typist, it’s difficult to use my fingers differently, especially for the note letters D, F, and G.

Thank you, Susan! Your instruction is really helping. Today when I was following along I discovered Joy to the World! The opening notes just follow the scale down from C, and then I memorized the “let Earth receive her king” part! Appropriately because it is Christmas Eve.😊
