I used to watch your channel way back in like 2010 now that I have a new account I was sitting here and randomly remembered a pie candle on the stove and searched for you 😅

"Hey can I use your knife?"
"Sure, whatcha cutting?"
"Why does it matter?"
"So I know which knife to give you. "
"How many knives do you have?!"
"Whatcha cutting?"

Good idea to tuck it if you are working around any heavy machinery. Like you would a neck tie.

If I carry a neck knife, which is fairly often, I generally keep it under my shirt not so much for concealment as to keep it out of the way. A lot of times I will also be carrying a belt knife so concealment isn't much of a factor. Having it under my shirt also cuts down on the (miniscule, IMO and I have also been carrying neck knives for years) risk of getting hung and choking me. I generally reach under my shirt to draw the knife then use the 'necklace' to pull the sheath up through the neck opening of the shirt, resheathe and then slip it back down through the neck opening. Not as quick as open carrying it but not a big deal, to me. If I am using it in an around camp situation, though, so I am taking it in and out of the sheath a lot to do small tasks instead of using my main knife I will leave it outside my shirt.

As for ball chain vs. Paracord I have a very complex formula I use for choosing one or the other - if the knife comes with a ball chain I will use it. If it comes with cordage I'll generally use that unless it is crappy cordage then it will get Paracord. If it comes with neither it gets Paracord

In discussions on forums about neck knives in the past whenever someone has brought up to me the possibility of Paracord getting caught on something and choking me my response (and I am not the only person I have seen pointing this out) is that I guess it is a good thing I would have a sharp knife handy to cut the cord, then.

I often use that same adjustable double-knot setup (is it called a fisherman's knot?) on my neck knives and have been using it on other cord necklaces (with pendants, not knives) for around thirty years or so. It works well but lately I have been experimenting with spring-loaded cord locks. They still allow the length to be adjusted with the bonus that, although they hold well enough for normal use, since putting a lot of pressure on the cord would cause the tag ends to slip through and out of the cord lock, they would act as an intentional 'failure point' if the cord got caught on something, eliminating the already almost nonexistent (IMO) strangling risk. The possible drawback to the cord locks is that the tag ends of the cord are just kind of sticking out/possibly up from the back of your neck but that isn't a big deal, for me

Your Walmart gets all the cool kid stuff, mine gets junk. 😕

Have you seen any Swiss Tech knives at your local Walmarts? They are a fairly new company that is supposed to be exclusive to Walmart. I saw another knife channel on here show about 5 different knives that he got at Walmart.

Kind of reminds me of a Ka Bar Warthog and Mora Eldris combined

I'm looking at the Walmart page right now, and it says that the steel is 420 for all three knives.

One has to wonder what Walmart will have this Christmas, since Christmas 2023 is when this set was available. They also had the $6 Axis lock pocket knife, for $6. They had a small 3-3-1/2” black Tanto knife for $7. Same no name/type of stainless steel (probably generic 420 or 440) but good little knife.

Good content.

I prefer open carry on my neck knives, but sometimes I conceal.

The Camillus Comb 7.25 fixed blade is better. The sheath has a sharpener, bottle opener, hook sharpener, and very sharp! I bought one at Walmart for $20.00

A lot of the Ozark Trail knives use 3Cr13.

I've got to get a neck knife. That's the only knife I don't have. What brand do you recommend?? Yeah put a video out on a neck knife set up.😊

I saw a Mora style Camillus at Menards the other day. It has a ferric rod in the handle. It was one of those "titanium coated" Camillus you see at Walmart for I wonder if it's any good. Has anyone had any experience with them?

Whoever said, "that's not a $5 knife bc you had to buy a set of 3 for $15, " can screw all the way off. Lol. 3 knives for $15 means it's a $5 knife.
