she was 1 of 6 out of 9 children to survive, she survived tuberculosis, she survived the olympic getting t-boned by a warship designed to sink ships by ramming them (smith was the captain), she was only 1 of 700 out of 2, 200 to survive the titanic, and then she survives not being number 31 to get chopped up by the britannics propellers after getting knocked unconscious seconds before the blades are stopped, oh and then she goes on to live to be 83...pretty amazing

I’m surprised she had the courage to get back onto a ship!

At the age of 24 she was in the RMS Olympic
At the age of 25 she was in the Titanic

And she died in 1971 at the age of 84 years old

I read Violet's memoirs about 10 years ago and just recently re-read them.  What a story!  The actors in this piece did a marvelous job, and I love young Violet's rendition, very well done.

Roses are red
Violets are blue
They both survived the Titanic
But Rose isn't true

So the moral of this story is that whenever she's on a ship disasters happens.

if you look up more of her histroy you realise this woman had a hell of a life and sinking ships werent the only thing that tried to kill her, the fact that she lived to 83 is a miracle.

Really. Violet Jessop went through more than most of us. What have you been through that makes you so special. To have been on Britannic when she sunk must have been truly horrifying. Violet actually jumped and bounced of the keel. She said her more than ample hair saved her. She also regreted not hvaing her toothbrush with her on the Titanic, and made sure she had the implement on Britannic when it capsized.

She was on the Olympic when it struck another boat. Then she escaped the titanic on lifeboat 16. And finally, possibly her greatest escape, she had been in the lifeboat that was sucked in and destroyed by the britannics propellers, and she managed to jump out at the last moment and survive.

Wow she was incredibly lucky! Surviving on sea so many times. If I was on the Titanic and then survived, I don' think I can go to the beach again.

She should have just worked as a stewardess for other liner companies since we all know the White Star Line is very ill-fated. But she is very remarkable still.

This lady has bad luck. All 3 ships she worked on crashed or sunk!

Fascinating life story. I listened to a story where a 12 year old boy was kicked off a lifeboat, even though the women wanted him to stay in the life boat. The surviving woman remembers the distraught look on that poor boys face, while he sat on the Titanic ship.
