Fun fact humans never domesticated cats they actually domesticated themselves when civilizations started popping up

If you don't know when ancient civilizations started popping up and growing more food than they can eat they started storing the food which caused rats to populate the town, this of course attracted cats which then just claimed houses and people and became domesticated very easily, this is also why they're not a lot of cat breeds as unlike dogs who actually had to be bred to be domesticated properly and even bred to do certain tasks cats were already domesticated and they were more than happy to join sailors on ships to keep rats at bay which also cause them to populate all over the world causing them to become as much of a human pet as dogs
