The neighborhood I lived in, San Diego, was ALL USN (about half WWII vets) and it was always entertaining as a kid to wind up those guys and get them to tell all of us kids how they (their specialty) won the war, the aviators (and my dad was an active duty one at the time), and the tin can guys, a submarine guy (and my dad was an ANTI-submarine pilot, for 42 years), the Marine, and the AirCorps guy, and just to REALLY light the fuse wind up the PT GUY!!! and the entertainment value of the argument (and the new swear words a little kid could learn) could NOT be

A fluke accidental collision? I think the enemy found out those P.T. boats were made out of wood and rammed them on purpose. U.S.M.C. says that the Navy is a candy ass outfit, but this proves that this is not true. Hatred shines bright in time of war. The captain who rammed P.T. 109 probably was glad to have raised his killcount.
