Electric Poultry Fence Installation

This fall, we purchased electric fencing to allow our girls a larger space to free range while being protected from predators. Our laying hens quickly exhaust the grass in their tractor between moves, so this gives us an opportunity to extend the space, especially during the winter when there is less for them to forage on. We also show you our preferred solar energizer to avoid running extension cords for the electric fencing. It works great!

We have a similar set up using several nets linked together into separate pens for our ducks, geese and chickens, you can get a gate that allows easy exit/entry (makes life easier). However, one drawback, lighter bodied breeds can fly over the top (even if you clip their wings).
