I was having trouble knitting because I've been a crocheter for 50 odd years and was told by a knitter that the best way for me to learn to knit was to knit the way I crochet. And then I watched you knit and now I can do it. I got to tell you everybody crochets differently. Everybody holds their hook differently everybody holds their yarn differently and nobody says it's right or wrong.

Never, never, feel like you need to defend how you knit! As a 40+ year knitter, I will tell you that whatever works, is what you should do. I have learned a ton, even after knitting so long, so I can say, stay open to trying different ways from what you are used to, because there might be a reason that you don't know about yet. However, a good example of do what works is that I purl differently than pretty much everyone that I've ever seen, with the exception of my Mom, who taught me, and just a couple of people I've seen on YT. That being said, I can purl, just as fast and comfortably as a knit stitch, and I've tried other styles. I'm not changing, as my stitches end up mounted correctly and I don't feel like I have to hesitate at all, if a pattern has a ton of purling because it makes no difference. You never know, how you do something might end up as the next "latest & greatest" technique. Inventive solutions come from those people that are willing to take a risk and stick to their guns. Cheers!

Personally, I love the way you knit and I've been knitting for a long time.

I used the Walmart Main Stay cotton to make a breastfeeding cap for my sister’s friend. I really liked it. I still wish they had more colors. I think Walmart is missing out on sales. They need more colors. Thanks for sharing, Jennifer. I appreciate it. Have a great day!!!

Every time you start knitting I find myself mesmerized (I still haven't gotten the hang of it).

Thank you for the yarn comparison. I wonder how each would react to over dying... Mainstay colors tend to be a bit too pastel for my taste.

I am right handed and a lefty taught me to knit so I knit left handed. A family friend told me I needed to learn to knit the right way. I was a kid proud of my little swatch, and was stunned. Oh well, I do it my way!

I started crocheting when I was seven. I never held my hook like my mom did, but I did well my way. Knitting was the same, I held needles "wrong" and it took me years to learn. The end result is the important thing. So you do you and don't worry about everybody else.😁👍

It’s not wrong, it’s different. I do both crochet and knitting, I taught myself for both. I’ve had people tell me I’m crocheting wrong. I don’t care. They are not doing it.

I have never seen any one knit like you do. Fascinating!

I have been crocheting for over 40 year's and i have had people tell me I'm doing it wrong, but I don't care, my work next to theirs looks the same; so what... LOL But I have been trying to teach myself how to knit now for about a year and I am still struggling with it! Then I see how you do it, and I am amazed! You make that look so easy!
Stay positive, and keep with it! I think your an amazing person inside and out!

Your crochet stitches are so even and clean. I can knit that way but my crochet needs work. I was such a tight knitter for the first few years that I knitted. I broke so many needles. Thank you for doing this review/comparison. I love it!

Don’t worry about nay sayers. You can’t please everyone and I watch your channel for inspiration and not to criticize. I think it awesome that you decided to even attempt knitting despite being an excellent crocheter. I too want to try to knit but I’m still a crocheting newbie. Keep up the positivity! 💜💜🥰

Have you ever noticed the harshest critics are not creators? as a left hander watching you knit especially with those needles which I can not use fascinates me. As for not doing things right? If the result is the same? Who cares. You are much loved and appreciated xx ignore the haters.

Great reviews. I never would have thought Walmart yarn could compare to others. I will be trying them out. Thanks for saving us money and time. You're the best.

I taught crafts at a children's home, if I had 5 or 10 kids I had 5 to 10 craft interpretations, I had to bite my tongue to not redirect or criticize but realized the creativity and fun they had and the enjoyment and satisfactionaction they got. It was so much fun that way for all of us. You go girl. I've knitted for 60 years, I see no problem with your knitting!

Thank you for doing this comparison. I really appreciate knowing about the comparability of the yarns. It's fascinating to watch you knit. I've never seen anything like it. Your knit projects always turn out so nice.
