I just wanted to say I relate heavily to this song, and most likely not for the reasons it was written for.

I am autistic/on the spectrum/ASD/whatever, and growing up it’s been very hard to convey that to anybody. I try describing how it is that I feel about things; whether it’s my distaste for talking to strangers, using a telephone, using public transport, my preference to work a specific way, whatever. For all of it I am constantly told “Okay, but be ‘this way’ instead.” Basically “I don’t understand why or how any of this can stress you out so you’re definitely making it up.”

I have been told so much “you’re making it up” or “you’ll grow out of it” to the point that my anxiety, depression, and self-hatred have grown beyond belief.

But then I found your guy’s music last year, and it’s been a cornerstone of my playlists since. You guys have likely saved me from far worse depression and anxiety than I’m feeling right now because of songs like this. Songs that when I listen to them they make me feel less alone - even if just for a few minutes.

Likely none of this made sense. Lol
