I needed to re-post this video, Youtube found a problem with the original and had to remove it. Original had about 1850 views before removal, including over 800 in the last 3 days prior to removal, thanks to a share from Joss Christensen - 2014 Slopestyle Gold Medalist *** Brian Gardiner 10/5/2014

My name is Brian Gardiner. The edit is of my 14 year old ski season(2013-2014). I ski at Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid New York for the New York Ski Educational Foundation(NYSEF). I am a freestyle athlete, and compete in Moguls, Slopestyle, Big Air, and Rail Jam. In the summer I train at the Olympic Jumping Complex ramps in Lake Placid.

A lot of people helped me this year. I couldn't have done it without them. First off I want to thank my coaches. Thanks to all of the companies and shops that helped me out this year. Eloi Supply Company, a street wear company, for being very supportive of my skiing. Smith Optics for making great helmets and goggles. Flylow outerwear for keeping me warm and dry. Rossignol for helping me out with bindings, Lake Placid Ski and Bike for helping fix a my boots before Nationals, Sports Page for getting a pair of Rossignol Scratches shipped in and mounted within 3 days, and Suburban Ski and Bike Shop for helping me out with my Full Tilt boots. Also Whiteface Mountain for putting up a big jump for us to practice before Nationals.

I met all of the competition goals I set last year: USSA goal was to "finish top 3 in Slopestyle, Big Air, and Overall (Slope/Air/Moguls" - in March at Holiday Valley I came in 1st in Slopestyle, 2nd in Big Air, & surprised my self with a 3rd in Moguls, which was good enough to finish 1st in the Overall; "USASA events that I will qualify for Nationals. If I qualify for USASA Nationals my goal would be to come in top 20 in the 13-15 age group for Slopestyle" in April at Copper Mtn. I finished 11th overall in the 13-15 age group.

My goal for my next season is to continue to land bigger and better tricks. This summer I'm working on switch right cork 5 and a dub cork 10 at ramps in Lake Placid and Momentum in British Columbia.

For competitions next year I will compete in the USSA Eastern Free Tour with a goal of reaching Jr Nationals. In USASA my goal is to qualify for Nationals and to finish top 5 in the 13-15 age group for Slopestyle.

Thank you for watching my video, and comments, feedback, and constructive critiques are always welcome. *** One note, I always use poles, however I broke my left thumb mid season and was unable to hold a pole until I got to Nationals. The only exception was for moguls when I used a splint to allow me to compete.***

Thanks,
Brian Gardiner
