Why do they always do this?

Sounds like the employees are playing fast and loose with the order in which they add the ingredients. That’s the most generous explanation I can offer.

What’s crazy is companies don’t take complaints seriously unless they are posted in video format on a public forum.

You can see he genuinely wants to know the answer😂😂😂

Ex-Dunkin' employee here. I have an answer to that. Unlike Starbucks, who measure most of the ingredients by hand, our milk, creamers and sugars are pre-measured in machines. When those machines don't get calibrated every day, the measurements will always be off. And a lot of the time we employees are expected to do a million things during our shift. Especially when we are short staffed, so a lot of the time we aren't able to calibrate the machines due to the inefficiency of how the stores are run by the franchiser.

Dunkin is hard to work for. There are soo many options, they change things constantly, you are expected to work a fever pace, the mangers are literal psychos, customers are impatient, everyone who works there is in high school. I'm a chef and during covid I had to work there to keep my house. That environment is wild.

As an Ex-Dunkin' employee.
...

Corporate wants everyone to make Drinks in Fashion "A", but Customer AND Manager Feedback have decided Fashion "B" is better overall.

So you having competition between the older employees and younger employees over which way to make an order—"A" or "B", and that usually will leas to a better or worse product.

"But why does it taste different every single time?"😂

Edit: I commented because what I thought he said was funny, and I like Brett. Comments also help the algorithm, so it boosts Bretts videos. Good day to everybody!!

Sometimes it's because minimum wage employees are giving minimum wage results. Other times it's consistency of ingredients. The coffee blend can be a bit different or the syrups got too hot or cold in transit, etc. COVID even made it so some chains were taking whatever supplies they could get, consistency be damned.

Better question...why do you keep ordering from a place that doesn't even know how to make their own drinks?

As a Barista, it's because most of the employees are teenagers who do not care. I make sure to make drinks right because I wouldn't want my drink messed up. But most of my coworkers don't care enough. At my job we have the recipes plastered on the walls. No excuses. I wasn't trained properly for about 4 months so proper training is also an issue, but now I train people because I do it by the books

Hello! Former Dunkin employee here! There's actually a few reasons why your coffee could taste different every time.

Number 1) You're ordering iced coffee. Most coffees are steeped for a while to bring out the flavor. If it's freshly brewed and has just been pulled out of the fridge (yes Dunkin refrigerates your iced coffee.) there's a more likely chance of it having a strong coffee flavor, then after it's been out for a while it slowly becomes less of that coffee flavor and more bitter, like how you're drinking the very end of the last pot of coffee and you can taste the coffee grounds.

Number 2) Sweeteners/Syrups. Sometimes in the middle of making a drink, a certain sweetener or syrup that's being put into the drink runs out. And some stores to save money try to get all of the product out before they throw the bottle away to get a fresh one. Leaving the drink with unequal measurements. So for example an iced coffee asks for 4 pumps of caramel, but you're only able to get more like 2 and a quarterish pumps out. Most Dunkin employees will say that this would be enough and move on with their day.

Number 3) Mistakes happen. An employee could've made a mistake on your order, which happens a lot more than you'd think. Or you've managed to upset a Dunkin worker and they're purposely messing up your order.

Number 4) The machines arent properly calibrated. Unlike other coffee places where they measure milk and cream by hand, Dunkin uses machines for these measurements. If these machines aren't calibeated or are malfunctioning in some type of way, this could throw off the taste of your coffee.

Hope this helps!

P.S: If you want the FRESHEST donuts from Dunkin. Come first thing in the morning when your Dunkin opens. Most bakers come in around 10PM or 11PM the previous night to prepare and start their baking at around 4 in the morning.

Same thing at starbucks...and theres a recipe lol I was a batista trainer...I called out an employee because he made a drink wrong...it even looked wrong. He told me he thinks I'm bullshitting and I was like..."dude I literally had to learn to tell you to help you improve" I still make good drinks at home...I bet they can't. I'm happy. 😂

Barista here, there are few reasons why the same drink will taste different.
3.) ingredients. Two different brands of vanilla will taste different.

2.) espresso machine. If the espresso machine is not properly calibrated, or just not working right, will make the drink taste different.

And the number 1 reason is… the Barista. If you have a barista who is either inexperienced, not properly trained, or just doesn’t care; there will be an inconsistency with drink quality.
