It’s easy to take the bags off and the cables have clips. There is a way where you can swing the bags and top compartment up using bolts up front. The 412 shocks look cool on it.

Thank you for this Video. I was looking for something on replacing the air suspension with standard coilovers. It seems easy enough and I can soon get the bike back up to riding Status. especially after a good de-rusting and deep cleaning.
I recently got an 86 goldwing GL1200a, had been a good project bike in the garage from junker to daily Rider, and was a bit Skeptical on the Progressive shock installation. Had to remove the air suspension due to leaks and the air motor not functioning correctly.

I just put these 412 shocks on my 1500. Now the axle bolt hits the muffler. Did you have that issue?

Hi I have a 91 with 200k on it. Same color as yours. I pulled the rear wheel for tires so I’ll hit the brakes, damper unit, final and shaft drive and a couple o rings plus the wheel bearing. I was thinking about these shocks but my air ones still work!! Did yours work or were they shot when you decided to do this ? Worth the upgrade ? I’ll need to do this now as this is when the tire is out. By the way was your air unit on the left side facing forward ?? Mine is on the right !

Wow. Now you can't adjust them. Unless you take all that stuff off again. It's your choice and your bike however I would of went back to the original set up. I have 4 1500s and 1 1800. And I am always changing the ride from 2 up to 1. Depending how much weight I have on it. I know that works. But Honda had a reason to put the air ride suspension on that bike. No disrespect intended.
