They can only sell weed grown in NY. 0% of the good fire nug on the street is grown in NY. The law says it must he grown in NY and there is a limit to the amount of lights a licensed grower can have, something like 12 or 15 lights. This means 95% of the nug sold in these stores will be outdoor and greenhouse. Dark weed that no one wants. Everything on the street is indoor lime green frosty weed. If the indoor growers can only have 15 lights they would sell their pounds for 4k a piece, maybe more. Lol that means the top shelf weed will cost 80-100 bucks for an 8th from a dispensary. That exact same strain from ur neighborhood dealer would cost 25-30 an 8th. Even the outdoor and greenhouse weed will be double or triple what you would pay on the street. I don't understand why anyone would buy their weed from a dispensary. Denver and California do a good job, because u can buy top shelf quality 8ths for 25 bucks. The dispensary can actually grow their own weed, so they can be competitive with the established street market. It will be years before these legal dispensaries are able to make it work. All the illegal dispensaries will get all the business, because they have all the good weed people want.
