A350 vs 777X: Which Is Better For Airlines?

In this video we’ll discuss whether the highly anticipated Boeing 777X is ready for the market as we know it, and whether airlines should order the A350-1000 instead. Both aircraft's have their own strengths and weaknesses, it really depends on the airline and what their specific needs are.

A350 is designed as a 777 replacement, while 777X is an optimised stretch to classic 777 to match A350's efficiency. So now they're now in different size.
A350 and 777X in overall do not overlap, and 779 is a larger plane than 351. Many airlines ordered both, and commented per seat cost on the paper are similar.
But, if they're competing head to tead, A350 will be the winner by being lighter and more aerodynamic optimised.

With that fuselage cracking and the door blown off during pressure testing, I would leave Boeing as fast as I can and fly to Airbus and order the A350 for my airline.

Sorry Captains, but without watching the video Boeingeek will say the 777x is the best. how can you compare a plane that hasn't flown yet with one that is in service.

a350 once you consider the Ultrafan engine in the works.

As much as I would like to see all the variants of the Boeing 777X family (including the proposed 777-10) being successful, the Airbus A350 is better for airlines. The A350 is currently in service with airlines. Both the 777X airplane and engines are having problems with their development.

Always love to fly on an Airbus with their maintained 18 inch wide seats.

777x for airlines, A350 for passengers. The moment they start putting 3-4-3 configurations into A350s it's going to be the other way around.

777X is better, the engines don't (currently) consume any fuel!

Personally, I much prefer the Triple 7 over the A350. Can't wait to see the 777X in service. :)

I'm confused. The 777, 787, A330, A350 all have many variant all seem to overlap.

Clikck bait. There is no way to know until the 777X flies for the first time and good bad shows up real operation numbers

Here, there is nothing to compare. The A350 is the Airbus answer to the more and better B787. The 777X is the Boeing answer to the inefficient A380, to the Queen B747, and to the 777-200ER.

I will give it 5 years to mature before considering flying in one.

i kind of think the 777x wont do as well as the 777 300er because boeing and airbus have changed the game with the mid size/ fuel saving a350 and 787 i think big jets are gonna be a thing of the pass in about 5 years could be wrong but that just kind of seem like where its headed just my opinion

I feel given time the 777x will be a major hit. 777 family has proven to be a huge success and it competes in a vastly differing field than that of the A350-1000. Just give it some time, and like the 777 family, it will age like fine wine.

There is a very clear difference between these two aircraft. The 351 is more of a "passenger ferry, " while the 77W (and soon to be 778/779) is a passenger/cargo, overall payload-capable beast. 77Ws currently dominate the backbone of long-haul, twin-engine fleets, while A350s, 339NEOs, and even 787s handle a more supplemental role, geared toward passenger comfort and unique route capability. Take a look at the international terminal at SFO. The majority of trans-Pacific flights are going out on 77Ws (even still, some 200s and 200ERs, ) because they go full, with people who travel with 2 or 3, large, heavy boxes in addition to their baggage, and tons of commercial cargo in the belly as well. The 351, while people seem to love it in terms of passenger comfort (which I will be on my first A350 in a few days, ) are weight limited, which an exclusive RR Trent XWB engine that is already maxed as high as it can go. What an airline gets out of their 777s is confidence in their full payload capability at stated range, even if hot/high conditions are present. Heavier, yes, but it simply gets the job done, day in and day out, with added, commercial cargo revenue (on passenger flights) to ice the cake. 77X sales will obviously start off slow because 77Ws are still with ample life left in them (they are in fact the safest commercial airliner, statistically, less of course brand new models without a long enough track record for which to measure.) However, much like the 77W, the 77X will build plenty of sales momentum over the next decade, because it, like the 77W, will still dominate the twin-engine, wide-body market for sheer capability. The weight "penalty" versus the 351 will be made up for in commercial cargo revenue (and just my own guess, ) impeccable reliability, as it's 77W predecessor is known for. And that's all not yet to mention the possibility of a future 771, F or LR, because the GE9X is (believe it or not) the biggest engine technology leap that we've had in a long time, and has already broken the world thrust record.

Hey, what’s a 7x? 727x? 737x? 747x? C’mon, man. It’s the 777x. You did not do yoursrlf a service with 7x

I think the 777x is a bit too soon. Boeing could of rode the 773ER for another 5 years. This is simply because the 787 complimented it. Also, the 300er came out in 2004 making the airframe not even 20 years old yet.
But hey, there is a reason that Boeing is a multi-billion dollar company and people, who make at least 10 times what I make, are making these decisions.

i like both but the 777x is more appealing for me and is one of my favourite airplanes of all time Even tho i dont like Boeing alot. More of an airbus guy, but Boeing is sure a fine packet of good design
