Wyze Cam RTSP 2019 - View It On Your Computer
So when Wyze pushed their new update it was filled with a bunch of great things, but the most important update feature was the #RTSP ability. But its not as easy as we thought. So I'm going to show you exactly how to do it and how you can view it on your computer as well as on your Google Home Hub or any of the Google Assistant displays, including your Chromecast.

Step by Step Guide:

Download the Wyze Cam v2 RTSP file, or the Wyze Cam Pan RTSP file
Unplug your Wyze Cam and insert the prepared microSD card
Hold the camera's Setup button while plugging in the USB cable and continue to hold the Setup button until the light turns solid blue
Once the light is solid blue, release the Setup button and wait for 3-4 minutes. The camera will reboot and the status light will change during this time.
Note: The "Solid Blue" in this case is not the same as the one normally seen on the camera. Instead, both the blue and yellow LEDs will be on at once, making it appear to be a lighter blue.
Once this process is finished, you should see the Wyze Cam in your Home tab without going through the setup process as long as it was previously paired with your account.
How to start using RTSP:

Once your Wyze Cam is back online, you can access the RTSP function from the live stream (Wyze app version 2.3 or later) under Settings - Advanced Settings - RTSP
The app will automatically check if the installed firmware version is RTSP compatible. If not, please repeat the installation process above.
Next, turn on the RTSP toggle
You'll be prompted to set up a username and password for this Wyze Cam. Both the username and password should be 4 – 10 characters without special characters (only a-z, and 0-9)
PLEASE NOTE - This username and password is unique to just this camera. Please either use something that's easy to remember or take note of them somewhere, as these will be needed to access the camera's stream via RTSP
Click “Generate URL”, and the RTSP URL will show on the next screen. Use this for streaming through any RTSP compatible player on the same local network as the Wyze Cam.

This is fantastic. I am so glad YouTube suggested this otherwise I wouldn't have known this feature is up and running.

YES! This is exactly what I needed. I didn’t want to install a virtual machine like Bluestacks or AndyOS just to view a live feed for my pan cam. Thank you so much!

EDIT: The stream seems to run smoother, for me at least, in pot player than in VLC player.

I was getting ready to do this, and then read this (just above the download link):

Will RTSP continue to be developed?
We don't have the resources to keep developing two branches of firmware for Wyze Cam v2 and Wyze Cam Pan. This means that the RTSP branch will be upgraded infrequently. Using the RTSP firmware will prevent the camera from supporting any future functionality additions, such as A.I. for Human/Animal/Vehicle recognition, event video tagging, further stability improvements, and bug fixes.

The currently available firmware is an updated beta version. This contains improvements over the prior version, but still has potential to include minor stability issues. Once we're in a position where we can confidently say that any present issues have been fixed, we'll push out a release version of the firmware.

Good video and something we all needed.
I did the firware update in my Wyze cam Pan and everything worked fine. The only thing I see that is not very functional is the fact that I must be on the same WiFi network to work. The good thing would be to be able to see my camera outside the house on the office computer, something that still can not be. (apologies for my english)

Rtsp streaming works as you described in this video when you are on the same network. What if I want to watch from a browser at work (I have a new nanny starting next week)? I'm hoping to avoid having to setup a home web server like with TinyCam Pro. Interested in any advice anyone may have.

At 5:29 when he pastes the URL into VLC, this no longer works. VLC no longer accepts the a URL with a password included. Just paste it in, then modify it to remove the colon (:) and the password. Then click Play and a box will open where you type in the password, click Ok and it will work.
