I haven't been out in public for 5 months now without a mask. I've made dozens of masks before finding one that fit snuggly and was so comfortable I forget I'm wearing it. The wire around the nose is key, plus a good cupping under the chin. I use 3 layers of fabric, one being iron-on interfacing which I'm hoping acts like a filter.

I wear a bandana mask but it does not look like the one in the picture. I got directions from the USA Surgeon General in a video that shows how you can take a bandana and fold it over 4 times and fasten it with ponytail holders. That adds up to 12 layers of material over your face. I use glasses to cover the space around my nose, and my chin is totally covered. How can this not be effective?

I live in the UK and it's nice to know what mask's are safe and which are not. I work in retail so I'm surrounded by a lot of customers.

Are all the particles shows in the laser light droplets of spit, or are some particles of fabric or dust from the mask its self?

The neck gator is the worst one?? Wow!! A lot of my coworkers wear the neck gator one!! I don't!! The masks I wear in public & at work are the surgical ones!! I have cloth masks too, but I trust the disposable surgical masks more because they are 3-ply!!

While watching videos concerning the spread of saliva droplets, I was experiencing dry mouth from the diphenhydramine (Benedryl) I had just taken. I thought to myself, "What might be the result of an experiment in which the saliva propagation of a person with dry mouth is compared to that of a person without dry mouth?" If pharmaceutical companies were to develop a drug that causes dry mouth without causing other symptoms, I wonder if it would take so long to stop or prevent spit-transmitted pandemics in the future.

Where was this study on the valve mask? Anyone have that link? I want know how the hell it protects yourself but not others, really?! Not all of them are exhale air holes. Some are just solid filters not exhale holes. The filter doesn't ever actually opens when wearer breathes out.

One day they report the study of what masks do the job and which dont and today GMA is promoting a company that makes masks. This is quite confusing to the public... Which is it??? Fashionable or safe

Hi. Thank you for the video.
This is much needed information. So many people do not understand why we need to wear a mask. I'm ashamed to say our country is as uneducated and stubborn as it is. But look at the other countries that locked down quicker, and had complete compliance on masks, staying at home, and separating. They are getting better, and we are not. The numbers speak for themselves. “We the people” muffed it up, and are paying for it with our lives.
I sincerely hope that ABC News keeps informing people of how important compliance with the CDC guidelines are. That wearing masks, washing your hands with soap, wiping down surfaces with soapy water, frequently cleaning, and keeping your distance from others saves lives. “Everybody wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to go today.” And yet they do everything possible to get themselves, and as many other people as they can, sick; when it's so easy to stay safe. May God have mercy on our stupidity.
