Why Palpatine was CORRECT about the Jedi Taking Over the Republic

What was the only type of Jedi class that was established by the ancient order that has never turned to the dark side, it may shock you that the class of jedi that has embraced the dark side the least is actually the class that spends the most time around the dark side!

Honestly Mace has a little bit of Qui-Gon in him. Only difference is Qui-Gon would have simply acted without the support of the council

Also, Palpatine was disingenuous with his accusations. A broken clock is right two times out the day. Palpatine wanted to instill distrust in regards to the jedi. It just happened to be a coincidence.

Off topic but Mace Windu although he’s one of my favorites it’s fascinating how’s he’s a walking paradox. This man exemplifies both everything wrong with the Jedi while simultaneously embodying the type of mentality a Jedi should have. His rigid obsession with rules and unshakable loyalty to the republic is what diminishing his relationship to the living force compared to someone like Qui Gon however his attitude of seeing a problem and fixing it, insane self discipline and mastery of Vaapad showcase not only self mastery but his lack of fear when it come to his personal path between light and dark. He’s mastered his lower nature and is so mentally unshaken that he cannot be lured to the dark side. His stance in not giving in to the dark is so strong he made an entire lightsaber fighting style that literally flirts with the dark side but uses it for good. Mace Windu’s level as a Jedi mirrors the results of his self improvement but his fearless attitude when it comes to self introspection. In my humble opinion if Windu had time to see the error of his ways and gained a relationship to the light side like Qui Gonn he quite possibly could have been 2-3 times as powerful. As a matter a fact of majority of the entire order embodying Jedi like Qui Gon Jinn or Plo Koon Sidious no matter the prep time would NEVER have succeeded. Qui Gon had such a humble and deep bond to the force he lashed out and killed a random creature simply because it’s what the force wanted in that moment. It left a young Obi wan confused but I’m telling you lol….things really could have been different. This may seem like a very strange comparison but hear me out…if I could compare it to someone who is a Christian Mace Windu would be that Christian who looks at you with arrogance or self righteousness because you made a mistake or missed church while Qui Gon would be the type of Christian to give you the shirt off his back if you told him you were cold.

Mace wasn't wrong, though. What's right and what's legal aren't always the same.

I Civil war between the Jedi and those loyal to the Republic sound fascinating, i'd love to see this as a "What If".

Palpatine used the Republic against itself, so that the Jedi could not stop him without appearing to stage a coup, thereby legitimizing the purge as a seemingly necessary response. It was the perfect plan.

I'd be interested to see how Qui-gon would react to the jedi trying to take over.

The chancellor being controlled by a Sith lord was in fact the original Sith plan. Palpatine simply decided that he didn't need Plagueis any more.

The Jedi were lost when they put Republic law above the will of the force. They lived under and served the Republic. When the Sith took the Republic the Sith took the Jedi.

We need a Palpatine movie in the style of the original House of Cards.

This just shows the depravity of mace. I’ve always said he is that lawful good paladin that is so devout they don’t see themselves becoming evil.

Honestly this is what brought me back around on the prequels. I didn't like the prequels, not because of most of the reasons people my age do, but because I just thought the plot was thin. The dichotomy of Anakin sort of being right when he says "from my pov the Jedi are evil" was a brilliant plot by George.

This is GREAT point of Mace! Windu was completely right. Palpatine has so much power.Senate, courts, politicians. Everything. Palpatine was right in a way. Jedi WERE planning to do this. I think it would happen like you described. Unimaginable, brutal civil war. Palpatine needed to play the victim first. May the Force be with you too😊

Yoda said that following Mace Windu's advice would end the Jedi Order but not listening to him caused not only the ending of the order but also the death of all but a handful of Jedi. Between two choices I'd choose the one that kept all my friends alive.

I just want everyone to know... The video clip saying "Palpatine WAS RIGHT" was enough to click on this video.

while Palpatine’s ultimate goals were self-serving, his observations about the Jedi's position and the potential dangers of their power were not entirely unfounded, especially when viewed through the chaotic lens of the galactic conflict.

This slant on the story has always reminded me of the fantasy books, Dragonlance. Balance was a big thing. Even good, too much 'good' gets corrupted. I read those when I was so young and it stuck, then the prequels happened, and I was like, shit! This is really similar to Dragonlance!
