Wrong, you have to make full loop with line before going up for rest of knot. To do this correct way you have to start with nearest part of cleat.

You should throw in a second bound hitch like you did at the end. Rope can slip, you're unfinished.

A knot is not so much about holding as it is about being able to untie it quickly. This knot may hold but it will very difficult to loosen if there is tension on the line.

If you use this method to tie onto a cleat, you need a sharp knife. When the line is put under tension, the rope locks, it cannot be undone quickly. The knife is to cut the line. OXO is the preferred method.
