Gardens of Versailles - Versailles, France

A collection of stunning gardens cover an area of 1,976 acres, making the Garden of Versailles one of the largest and most beautiful gardens in the world. André Le Nôtre began the creation and renovation of the gardens in 1661, under the rule of Louis XIV (who felt that the gardens were just as important as the Chateau Versailles (Palace of Versailles). Placed strategically among the gardens are statues and fountains of all kinds, such as Apollo's Fountain and Neptune's Fountain.

Located in the town of Versailles, France, the garden area begins primarily in the back of the palace complex and spreads in all directions, but the initial and most dramatic view consists of an area called The Great Canal, almost as far as the eye can see. Gardens were also placed dramatically in the ares of Marie Antoinette's Residence and Farm, The Trianon Palaces (I have a separated video up here that focuses on the splendor of those areas).

Ed filmed the camcorder video and any narration heard, while I supplied the music from the free You Tube audio library & edited it all, etc.

The song heard in the background, throughout, is "The Closing of Summer" by Asher Fulero

I would like to go back there one of these days. Went in 1980, & they were restoring the outside.
