Watch YouTube on CarPlay With No Audio Lag! (MMB Wireless CarPlay Adapter Plus Update)

The MMB Wireless Dongle Plus is a wireless CarPlay dongle that has additional features including mirroring iOS or Android content or USB media to your CarPlay display. Stream video from apps like YouTube or Tick-Tock from your iOS or Android device, straight to your CarPlay display or playback stored video files from an attached USB stick.

With this update, it makes this dongle even better because the update addressed a few issues I had with it, namely the audio sync of YouTube video playback from your iPhone on your CarPlay display.

It is nice to have the ability to cast YouTube videos on your CarPlay display, the update brings improved screen zooming, where videos in the previous update were bordered are now cropped so it fits the full display on my Alpine head unit. Again, if you have a large iPhone Max and a small 6" CarPlay display, you are better off watching on your iPhone without any issues of playback etc.

Unfortunately this update doesn't improved switching between Media Cast and CarPlay. So it is best to boot into CarPlay and have the Media Cast option handy if you wish to cast video to your CarPlay display.

Switched to MMB Wireless CarPlay Adapter Plus. Much better than Carlinkit and Carplay2air. No more head unit rebooting/blank screen/audio shattering and carplay disconnections.

Two issues with MMB Wireless CarPlay Adapter Plus:

Slight delay (2 to 3 seconds) in playing new music track when next/previous button used.

No music/track information is displayed in my 2018 Honda Accord's instrument cluster when playing music from Apple Music/Spotify/Amazon played. (Wired Carplay & Carlinkit/Carplay2air display it)

Hi. How long does the update take? I connect USB, mmb prints on the car screen info about factory reset, mmb starts flashing red but USB no longer flashes. Then nothing happens, even after an hour, just a flashing red flash on the mmb. Thank you for your response.

Will this work with CarStream under Android Audio? Of coarse video & audio work fine by themselves. However are slightly out of sync when using carstream. This would be worth it definitely if it works in fixing that. :)

I downloaded update, loaded it on usb, it don’t update but when looking in U-Drive all it shows is system folder and once opened all that’s there is a .wav file of a ringtone
