personal opinion, i have always felt it was more likely to be caused by their own jamming equipment and that would explain why they felt they could dismiss foreign involvement

Yes it happened to me last night. My neighbor must've turned his microwave over into space maser. I slept in the den intead. Troubled times indeed. I'm sleeping with the enemy all the time in an electronic nightmare. Nobody thought it through. What if they used it against you? Duh!
